Two-Factor Authentication for All Otter Plans
Article Breakdown

We realize your conversations may contain some of your most sensitive and confidential information and that’s why we are committed to keeping your information private and secure.

Starting today, two-factor authentication is now available for all Otter plans (Basic, Pro, Business, and Enterprise) at no additional cost.

What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication is an added layer of security for your Otter account. If your password is compromised or stolen, you'll have peace of mind knowing that two-factor authentication keeps others out of your account, even if they have your password.

How does it work?

In order to use two-factor authentication, you will need to enable it within your account’s security settings. Once you enable two-factor authentication, you'll need to provide two pieces of information to access your account - your password and the six-digit verification code.  Users on all plans can set up their account to receive the verification code via an authenticator app, like Google Authenticator. Users that subscribe to the Otter Business and Otter Enterprise plans in the US and Canada can choose to use either an authenticator app or to receive a verification code via SMS.
